Philosophy and RS Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Start date: 8 October 2026
Are you a philosophy and religious studies specialist who enjoys getting learners to think for themselves?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider to deliver engaging, well-planned teaching across philosophy and religious studies programmes.
You'll prepare and lead sessions that build learners' subject knowledge, critical thinking and written argument, and you'll support each learner to progress and complete their programme successfully.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging, inclusive philosophy and religious studies sessions.
- Assessing and marking learner work in line with awarding body requirements.
- Monitoring learner progress and putting timely support in place where it is needed.
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to quality assurance processes.
- Supporting curriculum development across the provision.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in philosophy, religious studies or a closely related subject
- Strong subject knowledge across philosophy and religious studies
- Experience of teaching, assessing or instructing learners
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification
- Experience of teaching within further education
