Personal Development Tutor
Temporary | Contract
Location: the South West
Start date: 15 October 2026

About the Role
We're recruiting a Personal Development Tutor to join a further education provider in the South West. You'll work closely with learners to keep them on track, offering the pastoral support and guidance that helps them achieve and plan their next steps.
No formal teaching qualification is required — this role suits someone with experience of supporting learners or a background in care, and a genuine enthusiasm for helping young people succeed.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Holding 1:1 meetings with learners to discuss progress and set targets.
- Providing day-to-day pastoral support.
- Monitoring timekeeping, attendance and behaviour, and acting on any concerns.
- Supporting learners with their next steps, including UCAS applications, apprenticeships, further study and employment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 2 qualification or higher in English and maths
- Experience of working with young adults
- An Enhanced DBS check, or a willingness to obtain one
Desirable (but not essential):
- Knowledge of additional learning needs
- Up-to-date safeguarding training, or a willingness to obtain it
