Are you an experienced early years practitioner ready to take the lead in your own room?

About the Role

You'll join the nursery team at a further education provider as Nursery Room Leader, taking day-to-day responsibility for your room and the children in it. You'll lead a small team of practitioners, making sure routines, care and learning run smoothly and that every child is supported to progress.

You'll plan and deliver activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage, observe and record children's development, and build strong relationships with parents and carers.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the day-to-day running of the room and the practitioners working in it.
• Planning and delivering activities that meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
• Observing, assessing and recording children's progress and planning next steps.
• Acting as key person for a group of children and working in partnership with their parents and carers.
• Maintaining a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment that meets children's care and welfare needs.
• Supporting and mentoring colleagues and students on placement within the room.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare
• Experience working in a nursery or early years setting
• Sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with children, families and colleagues

Desirable (but not essential):

• Previous experience leading a room or supervising a team
• Experience supporting students or apprentices on placement
