Job Description
Motorsport Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the East of England
Start date: 8 October 2026
Are you an experienced motorsport or automotive professional looking to inspire the next generation of engineers and technicians?
About the role
As a Motorsport Lecturer, you'll plan and deliver engaging practical and theory sessions that build the technical skills and professional confidence your learners need to succeed. You'll bring your industry knowledge into the workshop and the classroom, giving students hands-on experience alongside the theory that underpins it.
Working with a further education provider, you'll teach across the motorsport programme, adapting your approach to a range of abilities and helping every learner progress. You'll monitor progress closely and provide the feedback and encouragement that keeps students on track.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering motorsport lessons that are engaging and well structured.
- Developing learners' practical skills through supervised workshop training.
- Teaching safe working practices and industry-standard workshop procedures.
- Assessing, marking and providing constructive feedback to support learner progress.
- Preparing learners for employment, apprenticeships and further study.
What we're looking for
Essential:
- Level 3 motorsport or automotive engineering qualification, or equivalent
- Industry experience in vehicle maintenance, repair or race preparation
- Technical knowledge of vehicle performance systems
- The ability to engage and motivate learners of differing abilities
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching or assessing qualification
- Previous experience of teaching or mentoring in a further education setting
Teaching experience isn't essential. If you're coming straight from industry, you'll be supported with teacher training, mentoring and ongoing development.
Drive the next generation forward
If you're ready to pass your motorsport expertise on to learners starting out in the industry, we'd love to hear from you.
What's on Offer
- Teacher training support provided
- Mentoring and ongoing development
