Job Description
Motor Vehicle Technician
Temporary | Contract
Location: the South West
Start date: September 2026
Are you an experienced motor vehicle professional looking to pass your skills on to the next generation of technicians?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in the South West, working with learners on motor vehicle service and repair programmes. You'll spend your time in the workshop and the classroom, bringing real industry experience into every session.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering practical workshop sessions alongside classroom-based theory.
- Supporting learners across motor vehicle programmes, from entry level through to Level 3.
- Assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback.
- Maintaining health and safety standards in the workshop at all times.
- Preparing learners for employment, apprenticeships and further study.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in motor vehicle service and repair
- Industry experience within the motor vehicle sector
- Good communication and organisational skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching or assessing qualification
- Previous experience of teaching, assessing or mentoring learners
Teaching experience isn't essential. If you're coming straight from industry, you'll be supported as you move into the classroom.
Drive the next generation forward
If you're ready to share your trade expertise with learners who want to follow in your footsteps, we'd love to hear from you.
What's on Offer
- Support for industry professionals transitioning into teaching
