Motor Vehicle Lecturer (Temporary)

Motor Vehicle Lecturer

Temporary | Contract

Location: the South East

Start date: October 2026

Are you an experienced motor vehicle professional looking to inspire the next generation of technicians?

About the Role

A further education provider in the South East is looking for a Motor Vehicle Lecturer to join its automotive team. You'll deliver engaging theory and practical workshop sessions, helping learners build the technical knowledge and hands-on skills they need to progress into employment or an apprenticeship.

You'll work with learners of differing abilities and experience, planning lessons, assessing progress and keeping standards high in a safe, professional workshop environment.

If you're currently working in industry and have never taught before, that's no barrier. Teaching experience isn't essential and you'll be supported to gain a recognised teaching qualification alongside mentoring and ongoing development.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering practical workshop and classroom-based teaching across Motor Vehicle programmes.
• Planning lessons and developing industry-relevant learning materials.
• Assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback.
• Maintaining accurate learner records.
• Supporting and motivating learners to achieve their full potential.
• Promoting safe, industry-standard working practices in the workshop.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle (or equivalent)
• Recent industry experience in the motor vehicle sector
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Enthusiasm for developing and inspiring future technicians

Desirable (but not essential):

• A teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one
• Previous experience teaching or assessing in further education

If you're ready to pass on your trade knowledge and shape the technicians of tomorrow, we'd love to hear from you.
