Motor Vehicle Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the North East
Start date: 8 October 2026
Are you an experienced motor vehicle professional looking to inspire the next generation of technicians?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in the North East, delivering theory and practical motor vehicle teaching to learners working towards their technical qualifications and their next step into employment or an apprenticeship.
You'll teach in both the classroom and the workshop, planning sessions, assessing progress and keeping standards high in a safe, professional working environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging classroom and workshop-based motor vehicle teaching.
- Planning lessons, schemes of work and assessment materials.
- Assessing learner progress and providing timely, constructive feedback.
- Maintaining accurate learner records.
- Promoting safe, industry-standard workshop practice at all times.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle (or equivalent)
- Recent industry experience within the motor vehicle sector
- Good communication and organisational skills
- An enhanced DBS on the update service
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience teaching within further education
Teaching experience is not essential. If you're coming straight from industry, you'll be supported to gain a recognised teaching qualification while you work.
