Job Description
Motor Vehicle Lecturer
Temporary
Location: Yorkshire and the Humber
Start date: October 2026
Are you an experienced motor vehicle technician looking to inspire the next generation of automotive professionals?
About the Role
A further education provider in the region is looking for a Motor Vehicle Lecturer to join its automotive teaching team. You'll deliver theory and practical workshop sessions to learners working towards motor vehicle qualifications, bringing your industry experience into the classroom and the workshop.
You'll plan and prepare your own sessions, assess learner progress and provide the feedback and encouragement that helps students move on into employment or an apprenticeship.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging classroom and workshop-based lessons across motor vehicle programmes.
- Assessing learners' work and providing clear, constructive feedback on their progress.
- Creating an inclusive learning environment where every learner is supported and challenged.
- Promoting safe, professional and industry-standard working practices in the workshop.
- Maintaining accurate records of attendance, achievement and progress.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification in motor vehicle, or equivalent
- Recent occupational experience in the motor vehicle sector
- Good communication and organisational skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience of teaching or assessing in a further education setting
Teaching experience isn't essential. If you're coming straight from industry, you'll be supported with teacher training, mentoring and ongoing development.
Drive the Next Generation Forward
If you're ready to pass your technical expertise on to learners starting out in the trade, we'd love to hear from you.
What's on Offer
- Teacher training support
- Mentoring
- Ongoing professional development
