Job Description
Fabrication and Welding Lecturer
Temporary
Location: Yorkshire and the Humber
Are you an experienced fabrication and welding professional looking to pass your skills on to the next generation?
About the Role
As a Fabrication and Welding Lecturer with a further education provider, you'll deliver practical and theory-based fabrication and welding sessions to learners working towards their qualifications. You'll bring your industry experience into the workshop and the classroom, helping learners build the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to progress.
You'll plan and prepare lessons, assess progress and support learners throughout their programme, working as part of an established team.
If you come from industry rather than teaching, that's welcome. Where relevant, the provider offers support to help you develop your teaching practice.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering practical and theoretical fabrication and welding sessions to learners at a range of levels.
- Planning, preparing and delivering lessons in line with the curriculum.
- Assessing and monitoring learner progress and providing constructive feedback.
- Adapting teaching and learning materials to meet individual learner needs.
- Maintaining a safe and well-organised workshop environment.
- Supporting learners to achieve their qualifications and progress onto their next steps.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Level 3 (or equivalent) in fabrication and welding or a closely related discipline
- Recent industry experience in fabrication and welding
- A passion for developing others and sharing your industry knowledge
Desirable (but not essential):
- Teaching qualification
- Experience of delivering to learners or apprentices
- Assessing or IQA qualifications
If you're ready to use your industry experience to shape future careers, we'd love to hear from you.
What's on Offer
- Support to develop teaching practice for industry professionals
