About the Role
An education provider is looking to appoint a Maths Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching across its maths provision, with a start date of September 2026.
You'll plan and deliver engaging lessons to post-16 learners from a range of programmes and vocational pathways, many of whom are working towards essential maths qualifications. You'll track progress, give timely feedback and support learners to build the confidence and numeracy skills they need to progress into further study or employment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging maths lessons to learners of mixed abilities.
- Preparing schemes of work, learning resources and assessments.
- Monitoring learner progress and providing timely, constructive feedback.
- Supporting learners with gaps in knowledge, building confidence and motivation.
- Implementing strategies to improve attendance, retention and achievement.
- Maintaining accurate records of attendance, achievement and learner outcomes.
- Contributing to curriculum development and quality improvement.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Degree in maths or a related subject, or a strong numeracy background
- Recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Ability to differentiate and adapt teaching to varied learning needs
- Strong communication and organisational skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience of teaching maths in a further education or post-16 setting
- Understanding of GCSE and Functional Skills specifications and effective resit strategies
If you're ready to help learners build the maths skills that will take them further, we'd love to hear from you.
