Maths Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: London
Start date: September 2026
Are you an experienced maths professional or graduate looking to pass your subject knowledge on to the next generation?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in London, delivering teaching, learning and assessment across maths programmes. You'll help learners build the numeracy skills and confidence they need to progress into employment or further study.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging and accessible maths sessions to learners of mixed abilities.
- Planning and preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessments.
- Tracking learner progress, marking work and providing timely feedback.
- Supporting learners with gaps in knowledge, building confidence and motivation.
- Keeping accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in maths or a strong numeracy background
- Subject knowledge relevant to the programmes you'll be teaching
- Ability to differentiate and adapt your teaching to varied learning needs
- Ability to motivate and engage learners of varying abilities
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience teaching or assessing in a further education setting
