Maths Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Start date: 7 September 2026
Are you a maths specialist who enjoys helping learners build confidence with numbers and achieve the grade they need?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider to deliver engaging, well-planned teaching across maths programmes. You'll prepare and lead sessions for learners of mixed abilities, build their subject knowledge and numeracy skills, and support each learner to progress and complete their programme successfully.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging, inclusive maths sessions.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessments.
- Assessing and marking learner work, providing timely feedback.
- Monitoring learner progress and putting timely support in place where it is needed.
- Working collaboratively with the maths team and wider curriculum staff.
- Supporting curriculum development across the maths provision.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in maths or a closely related subject
- Strong subject knowledge across maths programmes
- Experience of teaching, training or assessing learners
- Ability to differentiate and adapt teaching to varied learning needs
- Strong communication and organisational skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, QTLS, PGCE, CertEd or Level 5 DET
- Experience of teaching within a further education setting
