Maths Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the West Midlands
Start date: 7 August 2026
Are you an experienced maths teacher looking for your next opportunity within further education?
About the Role
As a Maths Lecturer, you'll deliver high-quality teaching to learners at a further education provider, supporting them to build the numeracy skills they need for work, further study and everyday life.
You'll plan and deliver engaging sessions to learners of mixed abilities, track progress and work alongside the wider teaching team to maintain strong standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering maths sessions across a range of levels and abilities.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessments.
- Marking learner work and providing timely, constructive feedback.
- Supporting learners with gaps in knowledge to build confidence and motivation.
- Contributing to curriculum planning and quality improvement.
- Keeping accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience of teaching maths within further education or secondary education
- Strong subject knowledge and an understanding of effective resit strategies
- Ability to adapt teaching to meet varied learning needs
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, QTLS, PGCE, CertEd, DET or a Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training
- Experience of teaching Functional Skills maths
