Machining Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the South West
Start date: October 2026
Are you an experienced machinist looking to pass your skills on to the next generation of engineers?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider to deliver machining teaching, combining classroom-based theory with practical workshop sessions. You'll help learners build the technical skills and confidence they need to progress into industry.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons across machining programmes.
- Delivering practical sessions covering machining operations.
- Supporting and guiding learners to achieve their qualifications and career goals.
- Assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback.
- Contributing to curriculum development and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification in mechanical engineering, manufacturing or machining, or equivalent
- Relevant industry experience in machining
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Enthusiasm for sharing your knowledge and developing others
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching or assessing qualification
