Are you passionate about helping learners overcome barriers and achieve their potential? Our client, a further education provider, is looking for five Learning Support Assistants to join their team.
About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support to students with additional learning needs. Your role is central to creating an inclusive environment where every learner can access their education and thrive.
You'll build positive, trusting relationships with the students you support, adapting your approach to meet individual needs and helping them grow in confidence and independence.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support to learners with additional needs, both in and out of the classroom.
- Working alongside teaching staff to help students access the curriculum and complete their work.
- Encouraging learner independence, confidence and engagement.
- Supporting the delivery of individual learning plans and monitoring progress.
- Helping to create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A genuine commitment to supporting learners with additional needs
- The ability to build rapport with young people and adults
- Patience, sensitivity and strong communication skills
- The ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience working within the further education sector
- Previous experience in a learning support or education role
- An understanding of the support requirements involved in accessing education and training
