Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the provider
Are you an experienced SEND practitioner ready to help learners build confidence, independence and skills for the future?
About the Role
You'll join the team at an education provider, planning and delivering inclusive sessions for learners with SEND and additional learning needs. You'll adapt your teaching so that every learner can access the curriculum and make progress.
You'll monitor and assess learner progress, give constructive feedback, and work closely with learning support and wider curriculum colleagues to keep support joined up.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons for learners with SEND.
- Adapting teaching and learning approaches to meet individual learner needs.
- Supporting learners to develop confidence, independence and employability skills.
- Monitoring and assessing progress, providing appropriate support and feedback.
- Contributing to personalised learning plans and positive learner outcomes.
- Working closely with learning support, SEND and wider teaching teams.
- Promoting an inclusive, safe and supportive learning environment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience teaching learners with SEND, learning difficulties or additional needs
- Strong understanding of inclusive teaching and differentiated learning
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience within further education, specialist education or a similar post-16 setting
- A relevant teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed or DET
