Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Start date: October 2026
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider to deliver teaching and support to learners on an Achieve programme, helping them build the skills, confidence and independence they need to progress into further study, training or work.
You'll work with learners of mixed ability and varied starting points, adapting your approach so each one can make progress and feel supported throughout their programme.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging, accessible sessions tailored to individual learner needs.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessments.
- Tracking learner progress, marking work and providing timely feedback.
- Supporting learners to develop confidence, motivation and independence.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the curriculum and support teams.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience teaching or supporting learners, ideally within further education
- Ability to differentiate and adapt your teaching to varied learning needs
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A patient, encouraging approach and genuine enthusiasm for helping learners succeed
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Experience supporting learners with additional needs
