Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: London
Start date: September 2026
Are you an experienced teaching professional who wants to help learners with additional needs build confidence, independence and real progress?
About the Role
As a Lecturer with a further education provider, you'll plan and deliver inclusive lessons for learners with SEND and additional learning needs, adapting your teaching so that every student can access and enjoy their studies.
You'll track progress, give feedback that helps learners move forward, and work closely with learning support and wider teams to make sure each student gets the right support.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons for learners with SEND.
- Adapting teaching and learning materials to meet individual learner needs.
- Supporting learners to develop confidence, independence and employability skills.
- Monitoring and assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback.
- Contributing to personalised learning plans and positive learner outcomes.
- Creating a safe, inclusive environment where learners are supported and challenged.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience teaching learners with SEND, learning difficulties or additional needs
- A relevant teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DET or equivalent
- A strong understanding of inclusive teaching and differentiated learning
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience within further education, specialist education or a similar post-16 setting
- Experience contributing to personalised learning plans
