Learning Support Assistant
Temporary
Location: London
Start date: 4 September 2026
Are you passionate about helping learners with additional needs build confidence, independence and real progress?
About the Role
You'll provide dedicated support to learners with additional needs at a training provider, working alongside teaching staff so that every learner can access their education and engage fully with their studies.
You'll build positive, trusting relationships with the learners you support, adapting your approach to suit individual needs and helping them develop the skills and confidence to work more independently.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support to learners with additional needs.
- Working alongside teaching staff to help learners access the curriculum and complete their work.
- Encouraging learner independence, confidence and engagement.
- Supporting the delivery of individual learning plans.
- Helping to create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience of supporting learners with additional needs
- The ability to build rapport with young people
- Patience, sensitivity and strong communication skills
- A genuine commitment to inclusive learning
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience in an education setting
- Knowledge of EHCPs and learning support strategies
- A relevant qualification in education or support work
