Joinery Tutor
Temporary | Contract
Location: the North West
Start date: 26 October 2026
Are you an experienced joiner looking to pass on your trade skills and inspire the next generation of carpenters?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in the North West, delivering joinery training to learners working towards their qualifications. Working across both the classroom and the workshop, you'll bring your industry experience into the teaching environment and help learners build the practical skills employers are looking for.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging theory and practical joinery sessions.
- Adapting your teaching to meet the individual needs of learners.
- Assessing learner work and tracking progress towards qualification completion.
- Producing learning resources to support the programme.
- Keeping accurate records and completing associated administrative tasks.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 2 (or higher) qualification in joinery or carpentry
- Trade experience you can draw on in the workshop and classroom
- The ability to motivate and support learners to achieve
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching or assessing qualification
- Previous experience of delivering training in a further education setting
