Job Description

Job Coach

Temporary

Location: the North West

Are you from a support, coaching or mentoring background and keen to help learners build the skills they need for work and independence?

About the Role

You'll join a further education provider in the North West as a Job Coach, working alongside learners to prepare them for the workplace and support them once they're there.

You'll work with learners one to one and in small groups, building their confidence, helping them understand what employers expect and making sure the support around them is right. You'll also keep in regular contact with employers so placements run smoothly for everyone involved.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting learners to develop the practical and personal skills needed for employment.
  • Working with learners one to one and in small groups, in college and in the workplace.
  • Preparing learners for work placements and supporting them during them.
  • Liaising with employers to review progress and resolve any issues as they arise.
  • Setting goals with learners and tracking their progress towards them.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Experience of supporting, coaching or mentoring young people or adults
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with learners and employers
  • A patient, encouraging approach and the ability to adapt to individual needs

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Experience of supporting learners with additional needs
  • Experience of working in a further education or training setting

If you're ready to help learners take their first steps into work, we'd love to hear from you.
