About the Role

An education provider is looking for a Job Coach to support learners as they prepare for, move into and settle into the workplace. You'll work closely with individuals to build their confidence, employability skills and independence.

You'll provide practical, one-to-one coaching both in learning settings and on site with employers, helping each learner understand what's expected of them at work and giving them the tools to succeed.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting learners on a one-to-one basis to develop employability and workplace skills.
  • Preparing learners for work placements and supporting them during their time with employers.
  • Working with employers to make sure placements are suitable and well supported.
  • Setting goals with learners and reviewing their progress towards them.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and positive working habits.
  • Maintaining accurate records of support provided and progress made.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Experience supporting young people or adults in an education, training, care or community setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, encouraging and adaptable approach
  • A genuine commitment to helping learners progress into work

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Experience of supported employment, work placements or employability provision
  • Experience of working with learners with additional needs
