Interim Head of Construction
Temporary
Location: Yorkshire and the Humber
Start date: 31 August 2026
Are you an experienced construction curriculum leader looking for an interim management opportunity within further education?
About the Role
As Interim Head of Construction with a further education provider, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and performance of the construction curriculum area, ensuring high-quality teaching, learning and learner outcomes.
You'll lead an established team of tutors and support staff, working closely with senior leaders to maintain standards and keep provision running smoothly throughout your time in post.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing construction teaching staff.
- Overseeing curriculum delivery, planning and quality.
- Monitoring learner attendance, progress, achievement and retention.
- Supporting and managing staff performance and development.
- Ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
- Managing day-to-day operational issues within the curriculum area.
- Working closely with senior leaders and other curriculum areas.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience of teaching or leading construction provision in further education
- Previous curriculum or departmental leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of construction qualifications and vocational delivery
- The confidence to take ownership of a curriculum area and manage a team
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience currently or previously working as a Head of Department, Curriculum Manager, Programme Manager or Head of Faculty
