Industrial Placement Officer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the West Midlands
Start date: 30 September 2026
About the Role
A further education provider is looking for an Industrial Placement Officer to source and manage work placements for its students. You'll build relationships with employers across the region and match students to opportunities that link directly to their course and career plans.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Contacting employers to source suitable industrial placement opportunities.
- Checking that employers can provide proper supervision and a safe working environment.
- Working with teaching teams to match students to relevant placements.
- Preparing students before they start, including paperwork and any required training.
- Keeping accurate records of placement hours, employer activity and compliance checks.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience in a professional setting with strong customer service skills
- Confidence contacting employers and building working relationships
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements for work placements
- Organised, with the ability to manage records and support students professionally
- Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to complete a new check
