Inclusion Coach – Deaf, V1 and PNI Lead

Temporary

Location: the East of England

Start date: September 2026

Are you an experienced SEND professional with specialist experience supporting learners with sensory, physical or neurological needs?

About the Role

You'll join a further education provider as Inclusion Coach – Deaf, V1 and PNI Lead, providing specialist support to learners who are Deaf or hearing impaired, visually impaired, or who have physical and neurological impairments.

You'll coordinate the specialist support these learners receive, working closely with teaching and support colleagues so that access, independence and progression all improve.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating specialist support for learners with hearing, visual, physical and neurological needs.
  • Developing and reviewing learner support plans and EHCP provision.
  • Delivering targeted one-to-one and small-group interventions.
  • Supporting learners to develop independence and self-advocacy.
  • Advising teaching staff on inclusive practice and reasonable adjustments.
  • Supporting transition and progression planning, and contributing to EHCP annual reviews.
  • Working with external agencies, schools and specialist professionals.
  • Supporting accessibility, assistive technology and appropriate risk assessments.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Experience supporting learners with SEND
  • Specialist experience with hearing, visual, physical or neurological needs
  • Experience in an education or training environment
  • Knowledge of inclusive strategies and reasonable adjustments
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent in education, SEND, health and social care or a related area

Desirable (but not essential):

  • BSL training
  • Assistive technology experience
  • Sensory-needs training
