About the role

A further education provider is looking for a Hospitality and Catering Lecturer to deliver practical and theory teaching across its catering and hospitality programmes. You'll bring your industry experience into the training kitchen and help learners build the skills, standards and confidence employers expect.

You'll work alongside a teaching team that shares resources and approaches, supporting learners academically and pastorally as they work towards their qualifications.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging teaching across food preparation, professional cookery and hospitality service programmes.
• Developing schemes of work, learning materials and practical activities that support achievement and progression.
• Assessing learners' practical and written work and providing timely, constructive feedback.
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, health and safety in practical training kitchens.
• Monitoring progress and keeping accurate records of attendance and achievement.
• Contributing to curriculum development and quality improvement activities.

What we're looking for

Essential:

• Level 3 qualification or equivalent in catering, professional cookery or hospitality
• Substantial industry experience in commercial kitchens, catering or food service
• Strong practical knowledge of food preparation, service delivery and food safety
• Ability to support learners with varied needs in a vocational learning environment

Desirable (but not essential):

• A teaching or assessing qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
• Experience of teaching, training or mentoring in a vocational setting
