Hospitality and Catering Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the North West
Start date: September 2026

About the Role
A further education provider in the North West is looking for a Hospitality and Catering Lecturer to deliver theory and practical kitchen sessions to learners working towards their qualifications. You'll bring your industry knowledge into the training kitchen and classroom, guiding learners through the techniques, service standards and professional habits employers expect.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging practical and theory sessions across Hospitality and Catering programmes.
- Planning, preparing and assessing learning activities to support learner progression and achievement.
- Marking work, giving feedback and carrying out progress reviews.
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and health and safety in practical training kitchens.
- Maintaining accurate records for registers, attendance and awarding body requirements.
- Contributing to curriculum development so that content reflects current industry standards.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Strong practical knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations and food service
- Industry experience in catering or hospitality
- Confident classroom management and the ability to give learners clear structure and guidance
- Good communication and IT skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience of teaching or assessing in a vocational setting
