Health & Social Care Lecturer

Temporary | Contract

Location: the South West

Start date: 6 October 2026

Are you an experienced health and social care professional ready to pass your knowledge on to the next generation of practitioners?

About the Role

We're recruiting a Health & Social Care Lecturer to join a further education provider in the South West. You'll teach and support learners working towards health and social care qualifications, bringing your sector experience into the classroom and helping students build the skills and confidence they need to progress.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons across health and social care programmes.
  • Assessing learners' work and giving clear, constructive feedback against assessment criteria.
  • Monitoring progress and putting support in place where learners need it.
  • Maintaining accurate records of attendance, achievement and progress.
  • Creating an inclusive learning environment in which every learner is challenged and supported.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • A relevant qualification in health and social care
  • Occupational experience gained in the health or social care sector
  • The ability to engage and motivate learners of differing abilities
  • Strong organisational and record keeping skills

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A recognised teaching qualification
  • Previous experience of teaching, training or assessing in further education
