Health & Social Care Lecturer

Temporary

Location: the South East

Start date: October 2026

Are you an experienced health or social care professional looking to pass your expertise on to the next generation?

About the Role

As a Health & Social Care Lecturer, you'll plan and deliver engaging lessons across health and social care programmes for a training provider, helping learners build the practical knowledge, professional values and employability skills the sector demands.

You'll bring your industry experience into the classroom, adapting your approach to suit a range of abilities and learning styles. Alongside teaching, you'll assess work, give constructive feedback and support learners to achieve and move on to their next step.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering engaging lessons across a range of health and social care courses.
  • Planning schemes of work, lesson resources and assessment activities.
  • Assessing, reviewing and tracking learner progress.
  • Maintaining accurate course and learner records.
  • Supporting learners to overcome barriers, achieve and progress.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Strong subject knowledge in health and social care
  • Relevant occupational experience in the sector
  • Ability to engage and motivate learners
  • Strong communication and organisational skills

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A teaching qualification
  • Previous experience of teaching, training or assessing
