Health & Social Care Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the North West
Start date: 2 October 2026
Are you a health and social care professional ready to pass your experience on to the next generation?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in the North West, delivering health and social care to learners working towards the qualifications they need to progress into the sector or on to further study.
You'll plan and deliver engaging sessions to groups of mixed abilities, assess learners' work and track their progress, keeping your teaching grounded in current practice across health and social care.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality teaching across health and social care courses.
- Planning and preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessments.
- Marking learners' work and providing timely, constructive feedback.
- Monitoring learner progress and supporting those with gaps in knowledge.
- Working with curriculum colleagues to support achievement and retention.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification or above in health and social care, or substantial sector experience
- Experience teaching, training or assessing post-16 learners
- Strong classroom management and learner engagement skills
- Ability to adapt teaching to a range of learning needs
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification
- Experience of delivering within further education
