Health Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the West Midlands
Start date: 8 October 2026
Are you an experienced health professional looking to pass your knowledge on to the next generation?
About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Health Lecturer to join a further education provider in the West Midlands. You'll teach and support learners across health programmes, drawing on your own background to help them build the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to progress into further study or employment.
You'll plan and prepare your sessions, assess learners' work and guide them through their studies, creating a safe and inclusive environment in which every learner can achieve.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging teaching across health programmes.
- Planning and developing lesson plans, schemes of work and assessment schedules.
- Assessing learners' work and providing timely, constructive feedback.
- Monitoring learner progress and supporting achievement and retention.
- Providing academic and pastoral guidance to learners.
- Bringing relevant industry knowledge into the classroom to keep programmes current.
- Contributing to curriculum development and maintaining accurate course records.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A relevant qualification in a health or health and social care discipline
- Experience gained within the health or care sector
- The ability to engage and motivate diverse groups of learners
- Strong organisational skills and accurate record keeping
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification
- Previous experience of teaching, training or assessing in a further education setting
