Health and Social Care Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: London
Start date: 18 September 2026
Are you a health and social care professional who enjoys helping learners connect theory to practice in the workplace?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider to deliver engaging, well-planned teaching across health and social care programmes. You'll prepare and lead sessions that build learners' subject knowledge, practical skills and professional behaviours, and you'll support each learner to progress and complete their programme successfully.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging, inclusive health and social care sessions.
- Assessing and marking learner work in line with awarding body requirements.
- Monitoring learner progress and putting timely support in place where it is needed.
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to quality assurance processes.
- Supporting curriculum development across the health and social care provision.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A qualification in health and social care, nursing or a closely related discipline
- Strong subject knowledge across health and social care programmes
- Experience of teaching, training or assessing learners
- Ability to plan, assess and track learner progress
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification
- Recent experience working in the health or social care sector
- Experience of teaching learners aged 16 to 19
