Temporary

Are you a health and safety professional who would enjoy applying your expertise within an education setting?
About the Role
An education provider is looking for a Health and Safety Specialist to support the organisation in meeting its health and safety obligations. You'll advise staff at all levels, keep policies and procedures current, and help maintain a consistent, positive safety culture.
You'll work closely with teams across the organisation, identifying risks, recommending practical improvements and making sure agreed actions are seen through.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising managers and staff on health and safety legislation, best practice and compliance.
- Supporting the review and application of health and safety policies, procedures and standards.
- Overseeing risk assessments, incident reporting and investigations.
- Carrying out audits and inspections, tracking actions through to completion.
- Delivering or supporting health and safety training and inductions.
- Maintaining accurate records and statutory reporting, including RIDDOR.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent health and safety qualification
- Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and risk management
- Experience of auditing health and safety systems and improving compliance
- Confidence in advising and influencing colleagues at all levels
Desirable (but not essential):
- NEBOSH Diploma, or working towards it
- IOSH membership, or willingness to work towards chartered status
- Experience of working within an education or multi-site environment
