Hairdressing Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the East of England
Are you an experienced hairdressing professional looking to pass your skills on to the next generation of stylists?
About the Role
You'll join the hairdressing team at a further education provider, delivering practical and theory sessions to learners working towards their qualifications. You'll plan and prepare lessons, assess learner work and track progress, giving the feedback and encouragement that keeps learners moving forward.
You'll teach salon techniques alongside the professional standards and employability skills that help learners step into the industry with confidence.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging practical and theory hairdressing sessions to learners of mixed abilities.
- Planning schemes of work, resources and assessments that support achievement and progression.
- Assessing learner work, giving timely feedback and monitoring progress.
- Supporting learners to develop their practical skills, confidence and employability.
- Contributing to curriculum development in line with current industry standards.
- Maintaining accurate records of attendance, achievement and progress.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification or equivalent in Hairdressing
- Substantial industry experience as a qualified stylist or salon practitioner
- Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt your teaching to different learners
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience of teaching, assessing or training in hairdressing
