Hairdressing Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: London
Start date: September 2026
Are you an experienced hairdressing professional looking to pass your salon skills on to the next generation?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in London, delivering teaching, learning and assessment across hairdressing programmes. Working across both salon and classroom settings, you'll help learners build the practical skills and confidence they need to progress into employment or further training.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality practical and theoretical sessions across hairdressing programmes.
- Planning and preparing engaging lessons that reflect current industry practice.
- Assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback.
- Supporting learners to achieve their qualifications and career goals.
- Maintaining a safe and professional salon and classroom environment.
- Keeping accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Level 3 hairdressing qualification or equivalent
- Current or recent industry experience as a hairdresser or salon professional
- Ability to motivate and engage learners of varying abilities
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Experience of teaching, assessing or mentoring learners
