Hairdressing Lecturer (Temporary)

Hairdressing Lecturer

Temporary

Location: the South East

Start date: September 2026

Are you an experienced hairdressing professional looking to pass your skills on to the next generation of stylists?

About the Role

As a Hairdressing Lecturer, you'll deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and assessment across hairdressing programmes at a further education provider, helping learners build the practical skills, technical knowledge and confidence they need to progress in the industry.

Working closely with colleagues in the team, you'll act as a personal tutor, promote strong attendance and contribute to the planning, development and review of your subject area.

If you don't yet hold a teaching qualification, this could still be the role for you. Our client welcomes applications from industry professionals and offers support to help you move into teaching.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering effective teaching and assessment across hairdressing programmes, in both salon and classroom settings.
• Supporting learners to achieve and progress, both in practical sessions and through tutorial support.
• Assessing, reviewing and tracking learner progress and maintaining accurate records.
• Contributing to the planning, development and review of the curriculum in your subject area.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Substantial vocational experience in hairdressing
• A relevant Level 3 hairdressing qualification (or equivalent)
• Strong practical and technical knowledge of cutting, colouring and styling
• Enthusiasm for supporting and motivating learners

Desirable (but not essential):

• A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
• Previous experience of teaching, assessing or instructing learners

If you're ready to pass your trade on to the next generation of stylists, we'd love to hear from you.
