The Organisation
Our client is a specialist education provider delivering high-quality, personalised learning to young people in small, supportive settings. With a strong focus on inclusion, wellbeing, and progression, the organisation provides learners with the opportunity to rebuild confidence, develop essential skills, and move positively into further education, training, or employment. Staff benefit from a collaborative culture, excellent training, and a clear commitment to professional development.
Role Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and accessible English and Maths lessons to learners working towards GCSE or Functional Skills qualifications.
- Plan, prepare, and adapt schemes of work to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities and learning gaps.
- Assess student work regularly, providing clear feedback and support to drive progress.
- Monitor attendance, behaviour, and academic progress, implementing interventions where needed.
- Support learners' personal development, confidence, and resilience through positive relationships.
- Work closely with pastoral and support staff to ensure individual learner needs are met.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and tracking in line with organisational requirements.
Essential Requirements
- GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
- Experience teaching or supporting learners in English and/or Maths within an alternative provision, FE, or similar setting.

- Excellent communication skills and a calm, consistent approach.
- Commitment to inclusive education and supporting learners with additional needs.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain).
A formal teaching qualification is desirable but not essential — full training and development support is available for suitable candidates.
