Foundation Lecturer – Reading
Temporary

Are you an experienced Foundation Learning tutor or lecturer looking for your next opportunity?
About the Role
As a Foundation Lecturer, you'll deliver reading and literacy teaching across Foundation Learning provision for a training provider, helping learners build the skills, confidence and independence they need to progress.
You'll plan and adapt your teaching to suit a wide range of abilities and individual needs, working alongside learning support colleagues in the classroom. Alongside delivery, you'll assess work, track progress and support learners towards their next step.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated reading and literacy sessions.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson plans and learning resources.
- Assessing, reviewing and tracking learner progress and achievement.
- Adapting teaching to meet a wide range of abilities and individual needs.
- Working effectively alongside Learning Support Assistants.
- Supporting learners to progress into further education, employment or training.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience of teaching within Foundation Learning or a similar environment
- Strong literacy and reading subject knowledge
- A teaching qualification recognised within the FE sector, or willingness to work towards one
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- A patient, flexible and learner-focused approach
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience of delivering Functional Skills English
- Experience of working with learners with LDD or SEND
