Forensic Science Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Start date: 7 September 2026
Are you a forensic science specialist who enjoys helping learners apply scientific method to real investigative practice?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider to deliver engaging, well-planned teaching across forensic science programmes. You'll prepare and lead both theory and practical sessions, build learners' scientific knowledge and laboratory skills, and support each learner to progress and complete their programme successfully.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging, inclusive forensic science sessions.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessments.
- Assessing and marking learner work in line with awarding body requirements.
- Monitoring learner progress and putting timely support in place where it is needed.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the science provision.
- Supporting curriculum development across forensic science programmes.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in forensic science or a closely related discipline
- Strong subject knowledge across forensic science programmes
- Experience of teaching, training or assessing learners
- Ability to plan, assess and track learner progress
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification
- Experience of delivering within a further education setting
