Job Description
Fire and Security Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Are you an experienced fire and security professional looking to inspire the next generation of engineers?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider, delivering fire and security training to learners working towards their qualifications. Across theory sessions and practical workshop activity, you'll bring your industry experience into the teaching environment and help learners build the technical skills employers are looking for.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging fire and security theory and practical sessions.
- Adapting your teaching to meet the individual needs of learners.
- Assessing learner work and tracking progress towards qualification completion.
- Producing learning resources to support the programme.
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety in the workshop.
- Keeping accurate records and completing associated administrative tasks.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 (or higher) qualification in fire and security systems, or a related electrical discipline
- Industry experience you can draw on in the workshop and classroom
- The ability to motivate and support learners of differing abilities
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- An assessor qualification
- Previous experience of teaching, assessing or mentoring
If you've not taught before, that's not a barrier — your industry knowledge is what matters most, and you'll be supported as you settle into the classroom.
If you're ready to pass your trade on to the next generation, we'd love to hear from you.
