Fabrication and Welding Lecturer

Temporary

Location: Yorkshire and the Humber

Start date: September 2026

Are you an experienced fabrication and welding professional looking to pass your trade expertise on to the next generation?

About the Role

You'll join an education provider as a Fabrication and Welding Lecturer, bringing your industry knowledge into the workshop and the classroom and sharing it with learners at every stage of their journey. You'll deliver engaging practical and theory sessions, supporting learners to build the technical skills and confidence they need to succeed.

Acting as a positive role model, you'll contribute to the provider's offer in this key curriculum area.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering practical fabrication and welding training in the workshop.
  • Teaching the theory that underpins engineering practice.
  • Assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback.
  • Maintaining accurate course and learner records.
  • Creating a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Supporting learners to achieve and progress.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in fabrication and welding or a closely related discipline
  • Recent industry experience within fabrication and welding
  • Strong practical and technical skills

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A teaching qualification
  • Experience of delivering to apprentices or further education learners
  • Assessing or IQA qualifications
