Are you an ESOL teacher who enjoys helping learners find their voice in English?

About the Role

A further education provider in the East of England is looking for an ESOL Lecturer to deliver English for Speakers of Other Languages to learners working at a range of levels and towards their qualifications.

You'll teach groups of mixed ability and background, developing the speaking, listening, reading and writing skills learners need for work, further study and everyday life.

You'll work alongside the wider teaching team, sharing resources and approaches and supporting learners both academically and pastorally as they progress.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging, accessible ESOL lessons to learners at a range of levels.
• Preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessments.
• Marking learners' work and providing timely, constructive feedback.
• Tracking progress and supporting learners with gaps in their language skills.
• Building the confidence and motivation of learners who are new to studying in English.
• Maintaining high standards of classroom management and a positive learning environment.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Experience of teaching or assessing ESOL learners
• A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
• The ability to adapt your approach to learners of mixed ability and background

Desirable (but not essential):

• Experience of delivering within a further education setting
• Experience of preparing learners for ESOL qualifications
