ESOL Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the South West
Are you an experienced ESOL practitioner looking for your next teaching role?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in the South West, teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages to learners working towards recognised qualifications. You'll support students from a wide range of backgrounds to build the language skills they need for work, study and everyday life.
You'll plan and deliver engaging sessions, assess learner progress and help students move on to further study or employment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Teaching ESOL programmes across a range of levels.
- Planning and delivering classroom-based sessions that develop speaking, listening, reading and writing.
- Developing learning resources and assessing learner progress against course standards.
- Supporting learners to overcome individual barriers to learning.
- Preparing learners for further study and employment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A relevant ESOL or English teaching qualification
- Experience of teaching or supporting adult and young adult learners
- The ability to engage learners of mixed abilities and backgrounds
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one
- Experience of teaching within further education
