Engineer Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Are you an experienced engineering professional looking to pass your skills on to the next generation of technicians?
About the Role
You'll join the engineering team at a further education provider, delivering high-quality teaching and learning to students working towards engineering qualifications. You'll teach in both classroom and workshop settings, bringing your industry knowledge into the room.
Alongside delivery, you'll support learners through their programme — tracking progress, assessing work and helping them build the technical skills and professional behaviours employers expect.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging, industry-relevant engineering sessions across classroom and workshop environments.
- Assessing and marking student work in line with awarding body standards.
- Monitoring learner progress and putting timely support in place where it is needed.
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to quality assurance processes.
- Supporting curriculum development and the wider work of the engineering team.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Level 3 qualification in an engineering discipline (or equivalent)
- Strong practical and technical knowledge from industry
- Enthusiasm for supporting and motivating learners
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience of teaching, assessing or instructing
