ESOL Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the East Midlands
Start date: 8 October 2026
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider as an ESOL Lecturer, teaching English to speakers of other languages and supporting learners to build the language skills they need for further study, work and everyday life.
You'll plan and deliver sessions that reflect the range of backgrounds and starting points in your classroom, assess progress and give feedback that helps each learner move forward.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging ESOL sessions across a range of levels.
- Assessing learner progress in speaking, listening, reading and writing, and providing constructive feedback.
- Supporting learners to develop the confidence and language skills needed for their next steps.
- Contributing to curriculum development and course materials.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A relevant qualification in ESOL or English language teaching
- Experience of teaching or supporting adult and young adult learners
- A teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience of teaching ESOL in a further education setting
- Experience of working with learners from a range of cultural backgrounds
