ESOL Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the West Midlands
Start date: 28 September 2026
Are you an experienced ESOL teacher looking for your next opportunity within further education?
About the Role
As an ESOL Lecturer, you'll deliver high-quality teaching to ESOL learners at a further education provider, supporting them to build the English language skills they need to progress in study, work and daily life.
You'll plan and deliver engaging sessions, assess learner progress and work alongside the wider teaching team to maintain strong standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering ESOL sessions across a range of levels.
- Assessing learner work and tracking progress, achievement and retention.
- Preparing learners for their assessments and qualifications.
- Providing support and guidance to help learners achieve their goals.
- Contributing to curriculum planning and quality improvement.
- Keeping accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience of teaching ESOL, ideally within further education
- A recognised teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one
- Strong knowledge of ESOL curriculum and assessment
- A supportive, learner-focused approach
Desirable (but not essential):
- A specialist ESOL teaching qualification
- Experience of teaching across multiple levels
