ESOL Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the East of England
Start date: 18 September 2026
About the role
You'll design, plan, deliver and assess engaging ESOL programmes for a further education provider, supporting learners to build the English language skills they need for work, study and everyday life.
Working across a range of levels, you'll develop learners' speaking, listening, reading and writing, creating a positive and supportive learning environment for a diverse group of learners. You'll monitor progress, give timely feedback and adapt your teaching to meet individual needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, planning, delivering and assessing ESOL programmes across a range of levels.
- Developing learners' speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
- Monitoring learner progress and providing timely feedback.
- Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Adapting teaching approaches to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners.
What we're looking for
Essential:
- Subject knowledge and experience relevant to teaching ESOL
- The ability to plan, deliver and assess across a range of levels
- A commitment to supporting learners from diverse backgrounds
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience of teaching in further education
