ESOL Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: London
Start date: July 2026
Are you an experienced ESOL professional looking to help learners build the language skills they need to move forward?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in London, delivering teaching, learning and assessment across ESOL programmes. You'll support learners from a wide range of backgrounds to develop their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, and to progress into employment or further study.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging ESOL sessions to learners of mixed abilities.
- Planning and preparing lessons, resources and assessments.
- Assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback.
- Supporting learners to achieve their qualifications and wider goals.
- Keeping accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject
- Subject knowledge relevant to the programmes you'll be teaching
- Ability to differentiate and adapt your teaching to varied learning needs
- Ability to motivate and engage learners of varying abilities
Desirable (but not essential):
- An ESOL or teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience teaching or assessing in further education
