About the Role

A further education provider in the North West is looking for an English Lecturer to join its team and support learners to achieve their English qualifications.

You'll plan and deliver engaging lessons to learners of mixed abilities, track their progress and give the feedback and encouragement that helps them move forward. Working alongside curriculum colleagues, you'll help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom where learners feel able to build their confidence.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering engaging English lessons to learners of varying abilities.
• Planning schemes of work, lesson resources and assessments.
• Tracking learner progress, marking work and providing timely feedback.
• Supporting learners with gaps in knowledge to build confidence and motivation.
• Working collaboratively with the English team and wider curriculum staff.
• Maintaining high standards of classroom management and a positive learning environment.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Relevant subject knowledge in English
• Experience of teaching English in further education or secondary education
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage a diverse learner population
• Ability to adapt teaching to varied learning needs

Desirable (but not essential):

• A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DET or equivalent
