Are you an experienced English teacher ready to help post-16 learners gain the qualifications they need to move on?

About the Role

Working with a further education provider in the South East, you'll deliver engaging, high-quality English teaching to learners across a range of study programmes, helping them build the literacy and communication skills employers and further study demand.

You'll plan and deliver lessons to mixed-ability groups, assess and track progress, and support learners through their qualifications and on to employment or further study.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering English lessons to learners of mixed abilities.
• Preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessments.
• Assessing and monitoring learner progress, and providing constructive feedback.
• Preparing learners for assessments, qualifications and progression.
• Creating a positive, inclusive learning environment where learners feel supported to succeed.
• Working with colleagues across the team to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Relevant subject knowledge and a degree or equivalent in English or a related subject
• Strong classroom management and learner engagement skills
• Ability to adapt teaching to a range of learning needs

Desirable (but not essential):

• A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
• Previous experience of teaching within further education
• Experience of supporting resit learners
